Kira Watson
On December 16, 2023, Daniel and Lindsey Watson’s daughter, Kira, was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma Brain Cancer and hydrocephalus. The devastating news hit their family hard, but Kira didn’t stop fighting. A few days after her diagnosis, the surgical team at Children’s National Hospital in Washington D.C. got to work. They removed a 2.75” brain tumor. Though several ‘satellite tumors’ were left over, the majority of the tumor was able to be removed without any neurological damage, and Kira was back to being silly, laughing and playing.
In early January, Kira had two procedures that helped her prepare for her Chemotherapy treatments. Several days later she began her first cycle of chemo. As difficult as it has been for their family, we know Jesus is guiding our steps, growing our faith, and healing Kira. There are five more cycles of chemo on the horizon, but the family is encouraged as they are not walking this journey alone. People across the country have been praying for Kira and they get to be beneficiaries of those prayers. They have watched God do many miracles that help them believe that He is on their side.
At the end of Kira’s third cycle of chemo she will receive an MRI that will determine how the cancer has responded to the treatment. We ask everyone to pray and believe that God will melt every cancer cell away and out of her body!
